Scientific Agreement between IMM-ISOF CNR and Johns Hopkins University

Yesterday, 18th March 2025 the Scientific Cooperation Agreement between CNR and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University (JHU Baltimore, USA)-Prof. Ishan Barman, has been officially signed for the creation of an international joint laboratory. It involves the Institute for the Microelectronics and Microsystems (CNR-IMM) under the scientific leadership of Dr. Annalisa Convertino, the Institute for Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (CNR-ISOF), with the participation of Dr. Emanuela Saracino.

The agreement is based on a joint research effort for the future three years on topics of common interest, aimed at investigating specific biological mechanisms through an innovative approach that integrates nanostructured substrates with optical diffraction tomography (ODT).

This agreement is based on a long-standing collaboration between the CNR and JHU developed through the networking initiatives of the International Working Group on “Advanced Materials, Nanomaterials, and Biophysics”, within the framework of the Italy-USA cooperation on science and technology, led by dr. Luigi Ambrosio (CNR) and dr. Sofi Bin-Salamon (US Air Force Office of Scientific Research, AFOSR), and supported by prof. Larry Nagahara (JHU).
