Jessica was born in Parma in 1986. She received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Sciences and Technologies (2008) and master’s degree in Chemistry (2010) at Università degli studi di Parma. The theses’ projects for both degrees were carried out under the supervision of Prof. Arturo Arduini and Prof. Andrea Secchi working on the synthesis and characterization of calix[6]arenes supramolecular complexes for the development of molecular devices.
In 2011, she moved to UK to pursue her PhD at Queen Mary University of London, working on the controlled functionalization of glassy carbon surfaces for the development of biosensors and biofuel cells, under the supervision of Prof. Jeremy Kilburn and Prof. Philip Bartlett. After completing her PhD, she moved back to Italy where she joined the group of Prof. Alberto Credi at the Center for Light Activated Nanostructures, first as a post-doctoral fellow at Università di Bologna (2016) and later as a post-doctoral associate at Instituto per la Sintesi Organica e Fotoreattività (ISOF-CNR) (2018).
Since December 2021, she has been a permanent researcher at ISOF-CNR in Bologna. Her research activity focuses on the development of stimuli responsive molecular and supramolecular functional materials.
