On June 12th, 2024, Dr. Armida Torreggiani, Senior Researcher in ISOF, was awarded the “Domenico Marotta 2024” medal by the Central Council of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) for her intense and effective efforts in promoting chemical culture.
The medal will be presented during the opening ceremony of the XXVIII National Congress of the Italian Chemical Society, which will be held in Milan at the Allianz MiCo Conference Center from August 26th to 30th, 2024. On this occasion, Dr. Armida Torreggiani will deliver her keynote lecture.
For over twenty years, Dr. Armida Torreggiani has been experimenting with new ways of communicating science to a broad audience, reaching tens of thousands of young people. Through her work, she has attracted a large number of experts from various scientific backgrounds and from many European countries. Together, they have promoted innovative scientific education programs that range from supporting school education to organizing highly successful scientific outreach events, contributing to the enhancement of European intellectual capital and the building of a Knowledge Society.
